Freeman College, Ruskin Mill Trust

Heritage Open Day: Experience Sheffield’s industrial heritage and Ruskin Mill Trust’s innovative method, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education at Freeman College’s C19th Sterling and Butcher Works. Grinding Trough tours and craft workshops are open to the public. Heritage Open Day is an opportunity to experience Sheffield’s industrial heritage and Ruskin Mill Trust’s innovative curriculum. Re-imagining heritage buildings provide a basis for the Trust’s specialist craft curriculum, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education. Sheffield’s Freeman College is composed of Sterling Works and the Butchers Works. Both buildings are C19th examples of Sheffield cutlery works. Butcher Works contains an example of the original Grinding Troughs.
