St Marie's Cathedral

Heritage Open Day: Step inside this Cathedral in the heart of Sheffield and admire the architecture, stained glass, stonework and decorations in this Victorian church. Opened in 1850 this is the first Romam Catholic church to be built in Sheffield after the Reformation Visit the Bell Tower and see the second set of bells which replaced the original set which sounded too tinny! Learn about the Thomas Lewis Organ built in 1875 and completely rebuilt 2013/14. one of only three in the entire county and the least altered.
