Blacksmith and Wood Turning demonstrations - Free Entry
Chedham's Yard is a restored 19th century blacksmiths and wheel wrights yard. it was run by the Chedham family for 150 years and has now been restored. It was opened to the public in 2012 and there are special events each week from Easter Saturday through to the end of September
3rd September - Demonstrations by skilled Blacksmiths and Wood Turners.
10th September - Heritage Open Day featuring The Wheel
17th September - Wheelwrighting with Robin Hill
Light refreshments are available in the Visitor Centre where a range of items made at the yard can be purchased
For the younger visitor there are the mouse and gnome trails, solve the problem and receive a gift.
Blacksmith Experience events can be booked during the visit for places during 2023. All the dates for 2022 have been taken.
The Yard will open at 11am and close at 4pm, last entry 3pm.
Entry is free on Saturdays for the whole family.
Midweek visits can be booked for groups of between 12 and 30. prebooking is essential.
