To the Manor Born - a talk by Bedfordshire Archives
We take a look at manors and the documents they created. It is 100 years since the Law of Property Act 1922 brought to an end the manorial system of landholding, which had been in place since before the Norman Conquest. Drawing on examples from Bedfordshire Archives, we will show that manorial documents are wonderful resources for family and social history.
