Crochet – Beyond the Granny Square

A series of crochet workshops to expand your skills beyond the humble granny square in order to make a range of useful and decorative items as well as taking the first steps towards creating your own patterns.
These workshops are suitable for those with knowledge of the basic crochet stitches – Doubles (DC) and Trebles (TR) (UK terms).
We provide all the materials you need to complete the projects but do bring your own crochet hooks if like us you have a favourite! – we suggest a 3 or 3.5mm and a 4mm, if you don’t have them or forget on the day don’t worry – we will have spares available to borrow.
Each workshop is 2.5 hours long – even if you don’t finish your project within the workshop, you will go away with the knowledge and materials to complete it in your own time.
Creating Texture – Front Posts and 3rd Loops.
When you understand the basic anatomy of a crochet stitch this opens up a wide variety of options for creating texture for a range of projects. In this workshop we will produce textured coasters using the front posts and use the 3rd loop to create cute pumpkins or cacti.
