Crochet Workshop: Amigurumi Basics

A series of crochet workshops to expand your skills beyond the humble granny square in order to make a range of useful and decorative items as well as taking the first steps towards creating your own patterns.
These workshops are suitable for those with knowledge of the basic crochet stitches – Doubles (DC) and Trebles (TR) (UK terms).
We provide all the materials you need to complete the projects but do bring your own crochet hooks if like us you have a favourite! – we suggest a 3 or 3.5mm and a 4mm, if you don’t have them or forget on the day don’t worry – we will have spares available to borrow.
Each workshop is 2.5 hours long – even if you don’t finish your project within the workshop, you will go away with the knowledge and materials to complete it in your own time
Amigurumi Basics
Amigurumi is the crochet technique used to make 3D toys and other items. Just using the basic double crochet stitch with increases and decreases enables complex shapes to be created.
In this workshop you will learn the basics to enable you to take on any amigurumi project
Working in a continuous spiral

Invisible decreases
We will practice these skills in the workshop by making stress balls – when you have mastered these the world is your oyster!
