Arsenic & Old Lace a play by Joseph Kesselring

Presented by Sutton Amateur Dramatic Club.

Arsenic and Old Lace was one of the first and funniest black comedies of multiple murders. Originally written in 1939 and set in Brooklyn, New York, it tells the story of two charming and gentle old ladies who are not what they seem. Behind the respectable facade of their lives lies an alarming and deadly secret that their nephew, Mortimer Brewster, discovers as he plans to marry the love of his life, Elaine Harper. It’s a secret which jeopardizes all his plans for their life together…….
Described as an inspired and delightful concoction, combining the charm and ingenious plotting of an Agatha Christie, with a sharp satirical perspective, this play is an entertainment not to be missed.

Socially distanced ticketing will be available for the Wednesday performance.
