Lepra's New Faces of Leprosy photographic exhibition

New Faces in town – Lepra’s ground-breaking photographic exhibition comes to Ripon Cathedral in November.

Following an unexpected, pandemic related hiatus, we are thrilled to announce that the New Faces of Leprosy exhibition will be touring again from this autumn.

Globally, there are over 3 million people living with undiagnosed leprosy. Every day the disease causes more damage to their health, livelihood, and future. Leprosy can be cured but the impact of prejudice and discrimination on mental health and a person's well-being can be lifelong.

In 2019 Lepra Trustee and Emeritus Professor Diana Lockwood travelled to India with documentary photographer Tom Bradley to create a thought-provoking series of portraits and real-life stories. The 2022 New Faces of Leprosy exhibition aims to challenge the negative perception of leprosy, focusing on the positive message that people affected can reclaim and rebuild their lives.

This awareness raising event is free and open to all. We will be holding two showings on 29 November; one from 11am to 4.00 pm, and a second showing of the exhibition from 6.00 to 9.00pm at Ripon Cathedral. Refreshments will be served at both showings.

Drop in to see Tom Bradley’s amazing work and talk to Lepra’s team about the extraordinary projects and programmes which support the most vulnerable members of society in India and Bangladesh.
