Get Into Teaching - Yorkshire and the Humber

NATIONAL TEACHER RECRUITMENT DRIVE COMING TO YORKSHIRE AND THE HUMBER
New programme of free events for people curious about teaching as a career and those ready to step into the classroom

A national recruitment campaign is coming to Yorkshire and the Humber to encourage young people starting out in the world of work and those considering switching jobs to find out more about life as a teacher.

The free Get Into Teaching event aims to inspire more people in the area to join a unique profession that helps shape the lives of the next generation.

The event, from 4.30pm to 8pm on Tuesday 8 November at the First Direct Arena in Arena Way, Leeds, LS2 8BY, is open to everyone – from the career curious to those ready to apply – and will be packed with information and advice on the steps to becoming a teacher.

The Get Into Teaching Yorkshire and the Humber event will include opportunities to meet current teachers from local schools, talk to expert advisers, and connect with others interested in teaching. Information will also be available about how to fund your training – tax-free bursaries of up to £27,000 to train as a teacher are available in selected subjects.

It is part of a new programme of events taking place in different locations across England in November, organised by the national Get Into Teaching campaign, which provides a comprehensive programme of support to help people become teachers.
According to a recent national survey* for Get Into Teaching, the majority (80%) of students and graduates agree they’ll know they’ve found the right career path when it combines their passion for a topic and the opportunity to make an impact.
4.30pm to 8pm on Tuesday 8 November at the First Direct Arena in Arena Way, Leeds, LS2 8BY. Free entry.
