Winter Walking Safari at Wild Place Project

Go on a Winter Walking Safari
Grab your hats and gloves and head to Wild Place Project to go on a magical adventure on our Winter Walking Safari. Experience the beautiful nature trails across our 50-acre site, while spotting amazing animals from around the world.
It’s the perfect winter activity for family and friends and guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit.
If we’re lucky and get snow this winter, our woodlands are really quite the spectacle!
Meet our reindeer
While Father Christmas gets busy preparing for Christmas Day, his reindeer are enjoying spending leisurely time at Wild Place Project, before their big flight on Christmas Eve!
Come and say hello to the reindeers and get a magical photo of their beautiful Christmas-inspired stable, from 3 December.
Reindeer talks
When they’re not wrapping presents, our little ‘elves’ are giving special reindeer talks where you can learn all about these fascinating animals.
Winter trail
Get your binoculars ready and become an explorer for the day by following clues to find safari scenes, and collect fascinating animal and conservation facts along the way.
Festive craft-making sessions
Join in our fun and festive craft-making sessions in Bear Wood classroom. We’ll be showing you how you can make your own sustainable festive decorations plus papier-mâché ‘presents’ for the animals.
The sessions run from 10:30am to 3pm on the following days:
3 and 4 December
10 and 11 December
Every day in the Christmas holidays: 17 December to 8 January
Wild Place Project is open everyday from 10.30am - 4.30pm.
