Derwent Art Prize 2024 Exhibition

Known for celebrating art in pencil, the Derwent Art Prize announces a shortlist of 68 artworks for its highly anticipated 2024 edition.

With a staggering 6,000 entries from 2,324 artists representing 77 countries, the Prize received an incredible outpouring of creativity from artists worldwide.

A panel of esteemed art professionals selected the shortlist from this diverse array of entries: Sergio Gomez, Miami-based artist and curator; Curtis Holder, London-based artist; Valérie Sonnier, artist and Professor at the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris; and Helen Waters, Director of Cristea Roberts Gallery.

The Derwent Art Prize 2024 will be a celebration of the best pencil art worldwide, with artists hailing from Australia, Chile, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The exhibition will be FREE to visit from 11am to 6pm, from 4th April to 13th April, and from 11am to 2pm on the closing day, 14th April 2024.

Visitors can expect to see a rich display of art in pencil, ranging from abstraction and experimentation to the hyper-realistic and expressive.
