Songs of Contrasting Subjects - album launch concert
Critically acclaimed soprano, Susanna MacRae, is joined by virtuoso guitarist David Black in this evening of intimate songs by David Braid, punctuated by his brief and haunting solos for guitar.
This performance marks the launch of his new album, 'The Second Book of Songs' and is presented by the performers featured on the CD/download.
Composer David Braid has set some 60+ poems to music over the course of his career so far.
In this concert Susanna and David will also perform Braid's first book, the 'Songs of Contrasting Subjects' - together these two books feature settings of poems by Lorca, Mallarme, R.S. Thomas, Liao Chung-K’ai, Ho Hsiang-ning, Shakespeare and Bunyan.
