Notes From A Small Island

In a world premiere, The Watermill Theatre brings Olivier and BAFTA award-winning playwright Tim Whitnall’s adaptation of Bill Bryson’s best-selling travel memoir NOTES FROM A SMALL ISLAND to the stage for the first time.

From Calais to Scotland, Bill travels the length and breadth of Britain. How can the nation that produced Marmite, Gardener’s Question Time and people who say “Ooh lovely” at the sight of a cup of tea, hold such a special place in this American’s heart?

With direction by the Watermill’s Artistic Director Paul Hart and design by Katie Lias, the duo come together following the major success of their most recent project, Spike. Experience Bryson’s life-affirming travelogue on stage in The Watermill’s intimate fittingly rural space. Playing from Friday 3 February to Saturday 18 March.
