Cardiff Opera presents Mozart’s 'Die Zauberflöte'
After making their Bath debut in 2022 with 'Così fan tutte', Cardiff Opera return to The Mission Theatre with a new, exciting production of one of the most enduringly popular stage works ever created - Mozart’s 'Die Zauberflöte' ('The Magic Flute').
Tamino is on the run from a terrifying monster but is rescued by three mysterious ladies. After bumping into the birdcatcher Papageno, Tamino is instructed by the Queen of the Night that he must rescue her daughter, Pamina, from the evil Sarastro. Gifted with magical instruments to aid them, the two companions set off on their quest. However, as they get closer to finding Pamina, they quickly realise that not all is as it seems...
Full of sublime music, swashbuckling adventure and profound philosophy, Cardiff Opera’s performances of 'Die Zauberflöte' offer an enchanting evening for the whole family.
Performances will be sung in German with specially written narration delivered in English.
