Danesbury Fernery was designed and built in 1859. The circular grassy site contains a Pulhamite (an artificial rock) grotto and cascade, Victorian water cistern and a rustic bridge over a plant river! Now planted with a myriad of ferns, perennials and a wild flower chalk bank. It was a derelict site that has been restored since 2015 by volunteers. We were awarded a Conservation Award in 2018.
