Heavitree's Unexpected Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
A quartet of dramatically different city gardens on a 2km circular walk. Blue Jay Way is a plantsmans guerrilla garden, boldly dominating the exit to the Co-op Car Park. Many themes, including blue and white flowers, jungle leaves and scented plants. 31 Regents Park is an insect-friendly garden, inspired by a visit to a Greek olive grove, and currently being future-proofed for climate change. A small back garden featuring hot colours. 14 Third Avenue is a steep terraced garden on challenging clay soil, with dramatic landscaping and carefully curated colour palette. Architectural features inc gabion wall, Indian sandstone, timber and pebbles. Generously planted front garden is a highlight in the local street scene.
