Ormskirk and Aughton Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Ormskirk is an historic market town in W Lancashire. The gardens are very diverse with something for everyone. 72 Ludlow Drive is a beautiful town garden overflowing with exuberant planting. Comprising a gravel garden, colourful herbaceous and shrub borders, raised shade and rose borders with many old and new roses and clematis. A large glasshouse with a collection of succulents, aeoniums, cacti and pelargoniums.There is also a raised pond and alpine troughs. 65 County Road is a cottage style garden with mature trees, perennials and shrubs, a central lawned area leads to a raised patio. Pebble beds and small sculptures are dotted around the garden. Gorse Hill Nature Reserve situated on a sandstone ridge offers spectacular views across the Lancashire Plain.
