Whitley Bay Theatre Company are proud to present to you this premier adaptation of Roy Clarks hugely popular 1970’s sitcom – Open all Hours.
One of Britain’s best loved sitcoms Open All Hours comes to the stage.
Set is set in a small grocer’s shop in Balby, a suburb of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, the owner, Arkwright, is a middle-aged miser with a stammer and a knack for selling. His nephew Granville is his put-upon errand boy, who blames his work schedule for his lacklustre social life. Across the road lives Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, largely occupied by her professional rounds, and her elderly mother. Arkwright longs to marry Gladys, but she resists his persistent pressures.
This iconic 1970’s sitcom, created by Roy Clarke is much loved by audiences and the stage production will be a real treat for any fan.

taking well known sitcoms and bringing them back to life on a live stage including Faulty Towers, Father Ted, The Vicar of Dibley and Hi-De-Hi, Open All Hours is sure to delight audiences.
Whitley Bay Theatre company has been producing and performing since the early 1960’s and we are thrilled to host their debut in North Shields.
