Kent Police Male Voice Choir
Gentlemen - make 2023 the year you find your voice
You sing in the shower. You know how a song’s melody goes even if you don’t know the words.
You enjoy singing – it makes you feel good.
This is all you need to go that one step further and join a choir.
Try it – the chances are you will like singing as part of a large choir. You will enjoy the sound and the company of like-minded men.
Back in 1978 the Kent Police Male Voice Choir was founded by a group of serving police officers and today, 44 years on, is still going strong although there are no longer any serving police offices in its ranks. There are still a few founder members in the choir but now retired.
The choir retains a strong link with Kent Police and we are a registered charity. We sing to raise money for good causes across Kent – to date we have raised close to £400,000 over the years for various organisations.
We welcome men from all walks of life – all we ask is that you can hold a tune. We are not seeking operatic artistes – just ordinary men with a love for singing. We sing in four parts – First Tenor, Second Tenor, Baritone and Bass so you will soon find your voice level. You won’t be alone in this – we will help you all the way to find your niche and begin a musical journey you won’t regret starting.
It’s an established fact that group singing relieves stress, improves lung function, enhances memory and generally improves mental health. What is there not to like! Apart from these benefits you will also enjoy the company of a very friendly bunch of guys and quickly develop a sense of belonging and pride in your new-found pastime.
We meet for rehearsal every Thursday between 7.15-9.30 pm at Holy Family Church Hall, Bicknor Road, Parkwood, Maidstone ME15 9PS and you will be made very welcome.
