Spoon Carving
In this workshop you will learn the basics of woodcarving through the process of crafting a wooden eating spoon.
Starting with a block of seasoned Lime wood, you will be taught how to scoop out the spoon bowl with a hook knife, how to remove large pieces of wood efficiently with a mallet and chisel, and the different knife grips for whittling it into a work of art. The course will be lead in a calm and friendly way. Participants will gain valuable knowledge about this ancient and therapeutic craft, and get the experience of using their own hands to entirely transform a natural material into a useful object.
Course fee includes all materials (and use of tools) and a delicious lunch from The Yard Cafe.
