Macbeth (Partners of Greatness)
The Faction returns to Wilton's Music Hall with a kinetic re-imagining of Shakespeare's famous tragedy. MACBETH (Partners of Greatness) will run from 14-18 February before transferring to Exeter.
Directed by The Faction's Artistic Director Mark Leipacher, MACBETH (Partners of Greatness) promises to be a theatrical experience that celebrates a decade of ensemble theatre making with the most extraordinary show. The Faction has brought their reputation for boldness, innovation and imagination to create a dazzling distillation of Shakespeare’s fast-paced tragedy.
Performed by two actors, MACBETH (Partners of Greatness) presents Shakespeare’s play from the perspective of the Macbeths themselves. Bound together by an unspeakable loss, the inseparable pair share their ambitions to take what they feel life owes them and experience the joy and terror of doing the unthinkable.
With a dynamic visual inventiveness and intelligent approach to text this is a raw, intimate and surprising portrayal of a famous partnership for first time audience members and seasoned theatregoers alike.
MACBETH (Partners of Greatness) is a dynamic portrayal of a partnership. As ensemble theatre-makers, partnership and collaboration has always been central to The Faction's ethos. The production has gone through a “reverse casting process,” an experiment where the actors have cast themselves, creating their own pairings and presenting their casting, rather than a hierarchical director-led casting process.
