Bowls Big Weekend at Tetbury Bowls Club
Did you know that lawn bowls is a target sport, a strategic game, and a sport for all
~ It’s a target sport because the bowl that stops closest to the jack (the ‘target’) wins the point.
~ It’s a strategic game because decisions need to be made about various elements of the sport, from who leads, to the type of shot, to where best to place a bowl and much more.
~And it’s a sport for all because anyone of any age and ability can play.
Tetbury Bowls Club is holding a free taster session as part of Bowls England’s national event. We would love for you, your friends and family to give bowls a try. We are really excited to welcome new people to our club and can guarantee that you will have plenty of time on the green testing your skills, meeting our friendly club members and learning to play this gentle sport.
Lawn bowls is a sport that is easy to take up but takes time and practice to master. There’ll be fun and lots of laughs. It is very doable, whatever your physical ability, relatively inexpensive and is really sociable.
It’s a great way to spend time (and maybe enjoy a little healthy competition!) with family as we have both adult and junior opportunities. And the club is a perfect place to relax over a cup of tea or something a little stronger.
