Meet the Maker - Curiosity Free's
Land of Oak & Iron are excited to host the next of our regular ‘Meet the Maker‘ events at the Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill. Our next Meet the Maker is with Curiosity Frees.
Inspired by nature and folklore, Tiff, the artist behind ‘Curiosity Frees’ promotes mindfulness, creativity and child-like wonder through hand-painted decor, nature journaling supplies, colour-your-own stationary and magical pet portraits.
After a childhood spent in The New Forest and playing in her grandparent’s garden, Tiff moved abroad to work and explored Europe and beyond, always favouring wild spaces.
Curiosity frees was originally dreamt up in the hills of Northern Thailand and after moving back to the UK permanently, evolved into an online shop selling hand painted stones.
In 2020 pet portraits took off, with nearly 100 now being painted for gifts, memorials and Christmas decorations. After a struggle with mental health and finding happiness in nature, Curiosity Frees started to reflect that original belief that curiosity and child-like wonder is the key to feeling mindful and free.
Now, Tiff creates original paintings and nature themed decor inspired by her love for the countryside and wildlife and is building a collection of stationary and journaling supplies to encourage everyone to get creative and get out outside, using nature walks and journaling to connect to the natural world and spark their child-like curiosity – no matter their age!
Everything is handmade and packaged at Curiosity HQ (aka Tiff’s back bedroom overlooking the Lanchester valley) and quality checked by her furry assistant, Ambrose the cat!
Tiff from Curiosity Frees will be at the Heritage Centre in person on Saturday 1st April for her Meet the Maker event day, where you can chat to Tiff about her creative work, buy some of her work or commission a bespoke pet portrait.
A selection of Curiosity Frees work is also available to purchase for a limited period in the Heritage Centre shop.
Free entry with plenty of drinks and food options available to purchase.
