Landscapes in Glass
Join artist Shirley Eccles to explore the techniques of Glass fusing to create a 2D landscape.
Once fired you will take home a lovely, unique piece of glass art; Hand made by you!
Be Inspired by your favourite landscape artist. Well-known artist David Hockney, local artist Nick Schlee or abstract landscape artist Peter Lanyon, to mention a few.
The choice is yours or use photos of your memorable visits to the seaside or famous landmarks as inspiration.
During this workshop you will be able to extend your skills and techniques involved in Glass Fusing. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of fusing ideas and glass materials to create the desired effect, whether it is water, rocks or green pastures.
The emphasis during this workshop will be on presentation. We will discuss size and framing options. However, you might also wish to consider to have your piece slumped into a S-curve mould so that it is 3D and can stand on a windowsill for example. Or how about presenting it in a metal frame. (Metal frames, round and square, can be ordered from the tutor at an additional cost.)
