Maskerade by Terry Pratchett

Maskerade by Terry Pratchett

Riverside Players have successfully staged several plays set in the fantastical Discworld created by Sir Terry Pratchett. Now the curtain will open on Maskerade, a murder mystery which satirises the world of Opera, illustrates the unfairness of being a person known for 'a good personality', and parodies a certain famous Phantom.
Young Agnes (stagename 'Perdita') leaves the kingdom of Lancre for the great city of Ankh-Morpork to start a singing career at the bottom. She arrives at The Opera House to find the sparkling ingenue Christine, a new owner whose management expertise is cheese, a 'Ghost' that leaves notes with far too many exclamation marks, and a number of the kind of accidents that you prefer to call 'accidents'. Being doomed to be sensible and actually being able to sing means Agnes is coping with all this pretty well. However, fellow Lancrastrians Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg see disaster ahead (not least for certain publishers) and head after Agnes, because, after all, being the Good witches doesn't mean they are Nice.
Evenings at 7.30pm plus a matinee on Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm
All seats £13 per adult
