Discover a wild world in Mottisfont's gardens through activities inspired by nature.
There are challenges to complete, and a butterfly-themed craft activity to take home. Look up to the skies to spot clouds and look among the leaves to find insects that help our gardens. You can work out the age of some of Mottisfont's mighty trees and learn about the shapes of their leaves.
Rose season and bank holidays can be very busy times at Mottisfont. Most visitors tend to arrive between 11am and 2pm, which can cause congestion in the car park. If you arrive at 10am you might find the grounds a little quieter, or if you arrive after 2pm, there’s still time to enjoy the trail.
If you have the flexibility, a weekday visit is generally quieter than a weekend, even during school holidays. If you can only visit over the weekend, Saturdays are usually less busy than Sundays.
