Pakefield Singers present Glory & Grandeur
The sound of many voices and grand organ combining to fill St Peter Mancroft’s unique and beautiful spaces
For our next concert pakefield Singers will be singing in the grandeur of St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich, and the programme has been chosen to showcase both the renowned Collins organ and the glory of choral singing within this magnificent building.
The main work is Vierne’s majestic Messe Solennelle, for choir and two organs, which is rarely performed as few venues boast two quality instruments. At St Peter Mancroft we have the luxury of two splendid organs and so this is a unique opportunity to hear this glorious work. The programme also includes motets and anthems by Mendelssohn, including O for the Wngs of a Dove and some for double choir, and the Easter Hymn from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
Our soloist is Katalin Pentice an international prize-winning soprano who will perform Mozart’s exquisite Exsultate Jubilate.
Theconducter is the charismatic and highly experienced vocal specialist and choir trainer Vetta Wise, with Tim Patient at the organ.
