Exhibition: Drawing Standen III

A young woman’s life immersed in art and creativity is lovingly captured in Maggie Beale’s charming sketches of family life.

As one of the Beale's seven children, Maggie was well placed to record her family's life at Standen. Drawn during and after her period of studies at the progressive Slade School of Art, her sketches provide a poignant insight into the rhythm of life here at Standen in the early 1900’s.
