Join the Upper Thames Branch of Butterfly Conservation on a trip to the BBOWT's Hartslock Nature Reserve: this steep grassland site offers magnificent views of the River Thames and surrounding countryside. It supports a rich flora, including some rare and uncommon species, and a good suite of spring butterflies.
We will explore the reserve for some of its special butterflies and other wildlife. Target species: Dingy Skipper, Green Hairstreak, and if we are lucky, Grizzled Skipper.
Accessibility - steep slopes, firm paths and a long flight of steps.
Walk 1.5 miles along the Thames Footpath to the reserve or park at the Goring Railway Station car park (parking fee) and be prepared to share lifts to the reserve (no parking on site).
