This Summer Trestle Theatre Company are running a fourth series of Adult Masterclasses, this time focussing on script and delivered by Acting Teacher and Director, Alex Bell.
Each masterclass will be on a drop-in basis with a different focus each session from learning about different script styles to exploring devising and delivery in performance. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to show up and play!
Session 1 | Sunday 18 June, 1 pm - 4 pm
Discovering Different Styles Of Acting
This class will allow you to explore different styles of scripts ranging from powerful naturalistic acting to high-level melodrama and everything in between!
Session 2 | Sunday 9 July, 1 pm - 4 pm
Exploring Texts And How To Utilise Them
This class will allow you to break down a text and then really inhabit the world of the play.
Session 3 | Sunday 23 July, 1 pm - 4 pm
How To Develop And Devise
What happens when you are given a non-traditional script’ without characters or sets or even words Come along and see how you can develop a new world of acting
Session 4 | Sunday 13 Aug, 1 pm - 4 pm
Monologues
Do you have a monologue that you are wanting to explore Have you wanted to see how you might develop your own individual acting
ABOUT THE PRACTITIONER:
Alex Bell is an acting teacher and director with over a decade of experience. He originally trained as an actor at the University of Northampton before moving on the complete his MA in Actor Training and Coaching at Central School of Speech and Drama, which he completed with Distinction.
Since then he has worked in a variety of institutions, such as Central School of Speech and Drama, East 15, Royal Academy of Music, Italia Conti, LAMDA and Identity School of Acting teaching everything from Clowning to Grotowski.
He considers his approach ‘person-oriented’, with an emphasis on the students and working with their unique skills.
