A FREE Guided Walk to look for Butterflies at Wildmoor Heath BBOWT.

Join the Upper Thames Branch of Butterfly Conservation on a trip to the BBOWT's Wildmoor Heath Nature Reserve: a precious remnant of the rare and fragile, lowland heath. It is situated on a slope and offers visitors a wonderful range of habitats and views. These range from wet and dry lowland heath and valley bog, to mature pine and broadleaved woodland. It supports a variety of less common plants and animals, including many heathland and bog specialists.

We will stroll across the heath searching for one of the restricted-range butterflies in the UTB area. There is also a chance of some of the less common plants and animals of this scarce habitat. Target species: Silver-studded Blue and other butterflies of this habitat..

Accessibility - variable, mainly firm, gently sloping, sandy paths, some boggy peat, rough underfoot in places, can be muddy. Gate, stiles and boardwalk.

Meet at the Reserve car park, a short distance south of 71 Sandhurst Road, Crowthorne.
