Schubert's Mass in G features beautiful melodies, rich harmonies, and a careful balance between choral and orchestral forces. Despite its musical brilliance, the Mass in G was not performed during Schubert's lifetime and was only discovered and published posthumously in the 1870’s.
Tomás Luis de Victoria was a Spanish Renaissance composer whose Requiem Mass was written for the funeral of his patron the Empress Maria of Austria in 1603. It is one of the most significant and profound compositions of the Renaissance period.
Schubert's Rondo in A major is a delightful and virtuosic piece written for solo violin and string orchestra.
