‘Midsummer Shakespeare’
Come and enjoy the magic of Shakespeare, set to a wonderful range of music! Ranging from the 16th to the 21st centuries, from unaccompanied settings of his sonnets to the fireworks of choruses from ‘West Side Story’, this concert shows just how powerful has been the Bard’s influence on composers throughout the years. Featuring Thomas Morley, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ivor Gurney, Bob Chilcott, Will Todd, Leonard Bernstein, Owain Park, and many more!
Conducted by Richard Pearce, accompanied by Jakob Rothoff, the Waverley Singers perform at the Church of St Mary The Virgin, Frensham, on Sunday, 25th June at 5 pm. Interval drinks available, as well as discounted tickets for under 16s and students.
The choir is pleased to be able to support The Meath epilepsy charity, for which a collection will be taken at the end of the concert.
