S arum Reflections is a celebration in words and music of Salisbury and its surroundings.
A uthors over the centuries who have lived or visited here share their views,

In aid of St Thomas’s 2020 Appeal

The Farrant Singers is the longest-established chamber choir in Salisbury, with close links to the medieval city, the surrounding Wiltshire villages and the Cathedral, where the choir occasionally sings the services in place of the Cathedral Choir. The group was founded in 1958 by the composer Richard Lloyd .Philip Lawson, once a Lay Vicar of Salisbury Cathedral and member of The King’s Singers, came on board as co-director with Andrew Mackay and conducted his first concert with The Farrant Singers in October 2021. 

Barney Norris is an award-winning writer educated at Bishop Wordsworth’s School. Much of his work is located in and around Wiltshire, including his first novel Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain, and Echo’s End, one of four plays produced at Salisbury Playhouse. His debut full-length play, Visitors was followed in London by Nightfall at the Bridge Theatre, and We Started to Sing at Arcola Theatre. His other novels are Turning for Home, The Vanishing Hours and Undercurrent.

John Cox moved to Salisbury in1979 when he became Head of English at Bishop Wordsworth’s School. There he also directed over thirty dramatic productions before retiring as Assistant Headteacher in 2010. He is a member of St Thomas’s Church and engaged with the locally based charities EdUKaid and La Folia.
