‘Buy One Get One Free’: a musical folktale for the family
A family theatre show for half term!
Adapted from the Indian folktale ‘Andher Nagari’ (‘City of Chaos’) by Bharatendu Harishchandra and ‘The Emperor's New Clothes’ by Hans Christian Andersen, this is a play about the madcap adventures of two sisters who escape their city, unable to bear the despotic nature of their ruler, and chance upon a city where EVERYTHING sells for a penny!
‘Buy One Get One Free’ premiered as a part of the Aha! International Children’s Theatre Festival in 2016, in collaboration with Ranga Shankara, Bangalore. The play has been staged over 20 times in India, including in Bangalore, Dharwad, Belgaum and Chennai.
