Come & Sing Handel: Coronation Anthems
Hosted by Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society, this is our annual Come & Sing event. In this Coronation year we will be singing the Four Coronation Anthems by George Frideric Handel.
The all day workshop will be lead by our musical director David Ballard and accompanied by Philip Adams.
Concludes with a free informal concert performance in St Peter's Church, Sheringham open to all. There will be a retiring collection for the Church and Society funds.
The four Coronation Anthems were composed by Handel for King George ll. The best-known of them, Zadok the Priest, has been sung prior to the anointing of the sovereign at the coronation of every British monarch since, including King Charles lll.
Repertoire: G. F. Handel - Four Coronation Anthems:
Zadok the priest;
Let thy hand be strengthened;
The King shall rejoice;
My heart is inditing.
