Returning to the NEC, Birmingham from 3 – 5 November Cake International, the global cake decorating showcase is back and bigger than ever with competition pieces, lifesize installations, and live demos from talented cake artists from around the world.
Visitors to this year’s show can experience an immersive “Stranger Things”, edible showpiece brimming with other-worldly monsters, supernatural horrors and some favourite characters from the show. It wouldn't be Cake International without a larger-than-life feature from world class sugar artist Emma Jayne Cake Design. Visitors should be prepared for a royal welcome at this year’s show as she creates His Majesty the King, lifesize in all his sugar-coated glory.
Following its successful introduction last year Bake International will also be back but bigger and better. Showcasing all things baking, from bread to pastries, there will be a new host of celebrities baking at the extended theatre. Baking royalty Jane Dunn of Jane’s Patisserie, the record-breaking author and blogger and Lottie Bedlow from the Great British Bake Off are just two of the baking stars running demos in the Nielsen- Massey sponsored theatre.
Melanie Underwood, Head of Cake International & Bake International said: “The show is getting bigger and more exciting with new celebrities, a bigger Bake International theatre and Emma Jayne featuring again as our resident artist.”
Entries opened in March for those eager to enter the much anticipated, world’s biggest and most prestigious cake decoration competition at Cake International. The number of entries for 2023 are expected to be in the thousands with competitors flying in from across the globe. Previous years have seen entries from as far as Indonesia, India, China, Argentina, South Korea and the USA. Open to anyone, the competition entries are a highlight of the show celebrating the creativity and skill of cake decorators worldwide.
