Join us for this very special joyous ‘double celebration’ to mark the granting of City status to Milton Keynes and the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla this year. Our programme features two of the outstanding Anthems composed by Handel for the Coronation of George II in 1727. Bach’s Cantata 78 is a wonderfully expressive work featuring a succession of amazing solos and duets. Cantata 34 is a festive work for the season of Pentecost, replete with fine contrapuntal choruses and splendour of trumpets and drums. The programme is completed with Haydn’s Nelson (Imperial) Mass, with its infectious melodies, bold textures and gripping final climaxes surely one of the greatest of all Mass settings, written when the composer was at the height of his powers. It promises to be an uplifting occasion and we hope that you, your family, friends and colleagues can share it with us.
