Hay Madrigals - Liz & Shake An afternoon of Elizabethan Madrigals
Please come and join us for a lovely afternoon of Elizbethan songs, duets and trios performed with period instruments in period costumes. Hay Madrigals aim to create a throwback to times gone by before TV, radio and even electricity when one of the few forms of entertainment was families singing at home together.
Our concert consists of music by Morley, Dowland, Johnson, Carlysle and others as well as popular tunes like Greensleeves whose authors are no longer known, and other well-known rounds such as To The Greenwood.
And you can enjoy fabulous tea & cake in the Hay Castle cafe or explore the other delights of the newly refurbished Hay Castle.
Please note this is very informal and not a concert. There are some benches around the hall but the castle expect listeners to pass by and stand.
