Along The Way: Poetry of the Kennet & Avon Canal. Come and hear Newbury poet Steve Wallis share some of the work from his collection themed around the Kennet & Avon Canal, then stay a while to write your own piece, inspired by West Berkshire Museum’s special exhibition Waterways.
Steve has been a writer and performer for 40+ years and promises that anyone can write a poem they're pleased with if they follow the simple steps of his workshop. Please bring your preferred writing materials and/or technology.
Steve Wallis gains much of his inspiration while walking his dog, Noggin, around Newbury and the surrounding area, leading to collections celebrating the history, ecology and beauty of Greenham Common and the Kennet & Avon Canal.
This event is to tie-in with National Poetry Day (05/10/23) and the special exhibition Waterways.
