Oldham Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
3 gardens less than 3m from Oldham town centre, all different in style. 76 Green Lane is entered through a wooden pergola past a cutting garden. Steps lead through a rose arch onto a path past 2 greenhouses down to another cutting patch. The garden consists of large mature trees and borders containing many cottage garden favourites inc roses, clematis, sweet peas and foxgloves. Lark Rise is a ½ acre suburban garden with borders surrounding the garden planted with perennials, shrubs and small decorative trees. Its features inc an apple archway leading to a box parterre with a decorative ironwork water feature. There is a beehive in a wild area at the bottom of the garden. Maggie's Oldham is a one storey building supported over its garden by steel legs.
