Mixed Media Textile Screen Printing workshop with Lydia Haines

An experimental one-day workshop learning new techniques. Polychromatic Screen Painting and Printing with Procion Dyes and Seaweed Gum onto Paper and Silk. Come and learn this unique way of printing on this one day weekend workshop. The workshop is aimed at all abilities with an emphasis on an individual interpretation and an adventurous use of materials and Equipment. Drawing and painting onto Open Silkscreens and then dry Printing onto both Silk and Papers using Clairefontaine 300gsm and newsprint for stencils. After an introductory talk and short demonstration, paticipants will design their silkscreens using their own designs, or looking at sketchbooks, photographs, or even objects for inspiration. You will be Printing the screens with seaweed gum after the screens have dried onto the various surfaces and then steam finishing the Silk for a professional finish at the end of the day. All refreshments and a home cooked lunch are included.
