Paying it Forward: Celebrating the Legacy of C V Stanford

Paying it Forward: Celebrating the Legacy of C V Stanford

Pangbourne Choral Societies Spring Concert
This concert includes a variety of pieces in celebration of the work and influence of Charles Villiers Stanford who died on 29th March 1924. The works chosen represent composers from the 19th and 20th centuries who influenced Stanford e.g. Brahms & Sullivan plus a number of the composers that he influenced directly or indirectly.
We use the term ‘Paying It Forward’ as the current term for ‘to do something kind or useful for someone because someone else has done something kind or useful for you‘
We are delighted to have James Gilchrist, the celebrated English tenor joining us as well as the Southern Sinfonia with whom we have worked for many years.
