Two workshops to help you connect with nature using all of your senses, unplug from the rush of modern life & tune into the therapeutic qualities of the landscape. These sessions aim to restore your calm & well-being with mindful movement & nature-based activities. Book the full day or come to either the morning or afternoon. Tea, coffee & biscuits provided.
Jo Tytherleigh will lead you through the landscape, skilfully guiding you to practice mindfulness by noticing both the minutiae & the vastness of your environment. Walking in natural environments & ‘holding a soft fascination’ is an evidence-based practice that connects us to feel the deep healing power of nature.
Morning Session: Mindful Yoga & Sensory Nature Journey: Rooted in Calm
In the morning session we will spend time outside reviving the senses. You may experience aromatic compounds from plants called phytoncides that naturally support our immune system & have been linked with lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. The session will include some yoga style movement, mindful awareness & opportunities for creativity, & connects beautifully with our afternoon session for those who would like a full day of relaxation.
Afternoon Session: Mindfulness in Nature: Restorative Outdoor Experience (Walk)
In the afternoon session we will spend time outside in guided moving meditation through the landscape. We’ll include playful breathwork, embodied movement & visualisation, giving you time to ‘just be’ in this beautiful peaceful area & to drink in your surroundings & relax. When we connect to our wilder side, we can feel fully re-energised & ready to take on the world again. This session connects beautifully with our morning session for those who would like a full day of relaxation.
