BBC Asian Network Comedy 2024
BBC Asian Network returns with an exciting live comedy show at The Glee Club, Glasgow on Thursday 29 February 2024.
Hosted by Asian Network’s Noreen Khan, and Glaswegian comedian and actress, Lubna Kerr, the night will feature a stellar line-up including:
Don Biswas
Politically-charged Asian gag merchant Don Biswas covers everything from politics and conspiracy theories to his life with dyspraxia and mild autism.
Faizan Shah
Manchester-based comic Faizan Shah moved to the UK from Pakistan as a child - his well-crafted jokes and nonchalant delivery make light of growing up in an immigrant household and the inevitable mental health challenges it brings.
Joshua Bethania
London-based Indian expat and award-winning comedian Joshua Bethania has appeared on on the BBC, Channel 4, Comedy Central and OFTV.
Pravanya Pillay
Comedian and writer Pravanya Pillay has been described by Funny Women as “hilarious”, was nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer and came joint third in the prestigious SYTYF competition.
Sabina
Edinburgh-based Sabina is an exciting new voice in Scottish comedy – fresh to the stand up scene but no stranger to a good old laugh!
The show will also feature live music from BBC Asian Network’s very own, DJ Kizzi.
