Tim Kliphuis Trio

Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis has created a new style embracing classical, gypsy-jazz and folk. Hailed as a ‘current-day improvising Paganini’, his inclusive and innovative approach has thrilled audiences and is influencing a new generation of string players.

Founded in 2006, Tim’s trio combine jaw-dropping virtuosity with mesmerising improvisations and present a genre-bending mix of musical styles; Tim shows his roots through classical repertoire and his love for French gypsy-jazz maestro Stéphane Grappelli; guitarist Nigel Clark brings his background in Celtic folk into the mix and contemporary techniques, while bassist Roy Percy's sound recalls the street music of New Orleans.
