Orchestra dell'Arte plays Four Romantics

Four Romantics is a vibrant mixture of some of the best and brightest music in the orchestral repertoire of the Romantic Era.
This lovely Matinée programme welcomes the return of star violinist, Pip Clarke, who joins Orchestra dell'Arte to play Violin Concerto No 3 by Saint-Saens; a real feast of good tunes!
The concert opens with a lively Overture by Suppé, Die Schone Galathea, with almost luscious sounds of Old Vienna that you will probably recognise.
The main work will be Borodin's Second Symphony which is bright and breezy and always a delight to hear. It will compete and contrast for romantic appeal with Puccini's Preludio SInfonico. This work won the youthful Puccini top prize at the Milan Conservatoire and propelled him to instant fame !
Edward Peak conducts this happy, romantic and relaxing programme.
