William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream - Birmingham

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
A famous comedic play by the playwright William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Nights Dream follows two pairs of lovers from Athens, who find themselves in a magical forest at the summer solstice, where they encounter the faerie folk. The forest faeries have problems of their own, with their king, Oberon, being rejected by his wife in an argument. . Oberon sends the mischief-loving Puck to play tricks upon the faerie queen with the aim of making her fall in love with him once more, and of course, the human couples are caught up in the confusion and trickery. Meanwhile, the ruler of Athens is planning his own wedding, to the queen of the Amazons, and is planning a great festival with theatre and ceremony. A group of craftspeople from Athens are engaged to create a play to perform at this wedding, and take themselves to the forest to rehearse the play - whereupon they also encounter Puck and find themselves caught up in the faeries illusions.
The hilarious results of these adventures, and the ensuing wedding back in Athens, do finally resolve themselves.
