Takeover Festival

JOIN US FOR AN AFTERNOON OF CREATIVE PERFORMANCES AND ACTIVITIES IN GOOLE’S WEST PARK, ORGANISED BY THE YOUNG PRODUCERS OF BOOTHFERRY PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Year 5 and 6 pupils have worked hard over the year to choose their festival theme, select relevant and fun companies to invite and perform at their festival, as well as make tough decisions about where their budget is spent. What they’ve created is a program of activities and performances, perfect for a family friendly May afternoon.

Fri 24 May: Cultural Crafting + Trunk Tales
From 5pm, the Young Producers of Boothferry Primary School will be manning art stations for a variety of imaginative crafts suitable for all ages – feel free to bring a pack-up tea to munch whilst you draw, paint, cut, and stick!

Then Tell Tale hearts Theatre perform their show Trunk Tales. Take a seat amongst blankets and cushions at this cosy show, created to inspire children’s love of stories and enhance their knowledge of different cultures from around the world. Theatre seating also available.

Sat 25 May: Walk Around The World
Circus Raj - Access All Areas
Circus Raj is made up of a cast of aerialists, acrobats, musicians, slack-rope walkers, and along with the eye watering displays by their fakir, they present a vibrant and fast paced extravaganza of intrigue, drama, music, laughter and surprise.

African Drumming Circles - Unbeatable Energy
A fun and inclusive activity for young people, children, and families to come together and experience the joy of group drumming.

Henna Tattoo Tent - Leeds Henna
Pop into the Henna tent and choose your favourite design. The henna provided is 100% fresh, organic, and vegan, so it’s suitable for all.

Yeshe The Yak - Thingumajig Theatre
Yeshe is a gentle, mysterious and curious yak - He will tour the walkways of West Park, pausing at intervals to meet people, alongside his friendly handler.

If the weather is too wet, find us at Junction Goole.
All events are FREE - however we recommend booking onto events where applicable, to avoid disappointment!
