Newport Music Club presents Colin Stone piano
On Saturday 13th July at Cosy Hall, Water Lane, Newport, TF10 7LD. Newport Music Club will be welcoming Colin Stone professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music.
Winner of the 1986 Royal Overseas League Piano competition, Colin enjoys a successful career as a solo pianist and as a member of the London Mozart Trio. In 1989 he made his début on BBC Radio 3 and, following the success of his live Concert Hall broadcast in 1990, playing works by Chopin, and Prokofiev's 8th Sonata. (www.colinstone.co.uk)
The concert comprises works by the most celebrated of composers and will commence with Beethoven’s: Les Adieux, Sonata in E flat Op. 8.This follows with Debussy Images Book 1; Chopin Polonaise Fantasie and will conclude with Prokofiev’s 5 pieces from Romeo and Juliet. It promises to be a wonderful opportunity to hear an exceptional pianist.
